Kenny Bayless, no surprise, ref for Manny Pacquiao-Miguel Cotto

All of you out there in Pacland who needlessly sweated bullets about even the possibility of the Nevada State Athletic Commission tabbing "Fair But Firm" referee Joe Cortez (a Puerto Rican) as the third man for the Manny Pacquiao-Miguel Cotto super bout Nov. 14, don't you feel foolish now?

You should've listened to WOIO, meaning the Wise, Old Irish Owl, meaning yours truly and not Billy Dooley.

I told you guys it was a lock that that Keith Kizer and the Silver State boxing board would select its top rated referee, Kenny Bayless, and that's what has just been made official.

There is nothing wrong with the rest of the panel as Nevada also picked veteran judges Duane Ford, Dave Moretti and Adelaide Byrd. Ford can be a bit erratic but he has a marked tendency to favor "the house fighter" and can there be any doubt that promoter Top Rank hopes that Pacman wins?

I think Ms. Byrd does not get her props as she is consistently good in scoring. Moretti is an old pro in the best sense of the term.

I can't see either Team Cotto nor Team Pacquiao bitching about this four person panel...
